Vacation Week
Noah and I had been looking forward to this last week for over 2 months. On last Saturday morning, Noah, Alex, my mom, my dad, and I packed up and headed to Tip Top Resort on the Whitefish Chain for a week of swimming, fishing, boating, eating, drinking, and above all - RELAXING. We had a great time. It was a week of firsts for Alex. He went swimming, swinging, sliding, fishing, and boating. He got his 6th tooth, can pull himself up on just about anything in sight and....Drum Roll Please....He says "Mama Mama Mama". The first time he did this it brought tears to my eyes and melted my heart. As if he wasn't wrapped around my finger already...

Happy 4th of July
Another week/weekend has come and gone. I can hardly believe the summer is half way over. The 4th of July and I have a love hate relationship because of this. This day is a great way for us to celebrate our Independence and honor the troops both present and past; however, I hate that summer is half way over.
We had another busy week. Alex got his first bruise and managed to break Noah's X-Box. Thankfully, they are fixing the X-Box under warranty :-)

On Sunday Noah and I headed over to my Aunt Janet's for the 4th of July Parade on Coon Lake. This is not the typical boat parade that you are thinking of. It is an all out battle. There are probably 100 boats armed with water balloons, hoses, and buckets of water. It is a lot of fun, but boy did we get warn out, bruised, and sun burnt. All in all it was good fun.

And just for fun here is our Little Boot Scootin' Boogier :-)

Alex's 1st Bruise (His Left Cheek)
On Saturday - Noah, Alex and I made the trip up to Wanamaker Cabin on Holt Lake to spend the day. My uncle Steve roasted a pig and we had a fantastic pot luck. Alex spent most of the day playing on his blanket in the yard with his trucks and was sure to have a huge smile for anyone who stopped by to say "Hi". Amazingly - he actually stayed on the blanket for most of the day, which is a blessing considering the amount of junk to get into.

Fishing & BBQ
Saturday we spent most of the morning chasing after our little man. He has just started to crawl and as you can see has figured out how to get into just about everything. I need to get my running shoes on if I am going to keep up with this guy.
Saturday afternoon Noah's mom Cindy came out to watch Alex so that we could go on a launch trip on Mille Lacs. The trip was paid for by Noah's department at work. It was very nice to get out and relax and enjoy the beautiful weather. I didn't catch any fish (everytime my bobber was down I was chatting), but Noah caught 2 and I think there were 15 keepers at the end of the night.
Sunday afternoon we headed over to the McConnell's to a BBQ. Annie and Shane are expecting their first child (a baby girl) on the 16th of July, so this was one last horaah for them. It was a beautiful day and the food and company were terrific.
Here is a picture of Annie and Malinda (who is also expecting a baby girl on the 12th of August). Little Alex can't wait to have some girls to chase around :-)
In other baby news, Heidi and Paul Nyquist welcomed there second child, a baby girl, Emmeline Lucille (Emmy Lu) this morning at 5:14am weighing 7 lbs. 12 oz. 20.5 inches long. Both mommy and baby are happy and healthy. Congratulations to them :-)

Father's Day Weekend
Noah headed out Friday night to spend a couple of days up at his Grandpa and Grandma Cotton's in Two Harbors. Unfortunately, due to the wind they were unable to go out fishing on Saturday. Noah was able to relax and get in a nap, so he thought that was just as good. Alex and I spent the day at the house and got in a few hour long walks over the weekend. He really seems to like going for stroller rides.
Noah left Two Harbors on Sunday AM so that he could get back and spend his first Father's Day with Alex and I. We had a rather low key day around the house, but were able to witness Alex's newest development together. He is now able to go from the sitting position to crawling position and back to sitting position all on his own. He thinks this is the greatest thing ever!!
Here he is pulling himself up using Mommy's Leg. I am telling you - This kid is going places...

Sunday night we headed to Wintergreen's in Isanti for dinner. Noah had a burger and I had pasta. Alex even had a couple bites :-) He was such a good boy. Even sat in the big boy high chair. He is just growing up way too fast!! Here he is pulling himself up using Mommy's Leg. I am telling you - This kid is going places...

Alex's 7 1/2 Months Photo Shoot
Another busy weekend has come and gone. Noah spent most of the weekend staining the deck. Over 12 hours on Saturday and another 5 on Sunday. I was able to get out and help him during Alex's naps and for a while on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Grandma W came over to watch little Alex.
I took Alex to the Pioneer Days Parade on Saturday. It really wasn't anything to write home about. Only one band (St. Francis) and they didn't even play while they were marching by us. Can you believe it? Lots of dancers and advertisement. Of course Alex wasn't too interested in the parade, but did enjoy sitting on his blanket picking at the grass and smiling at anyone who stopped to talk to him.
Sunday afternoon we took Alex back to Created by Me Photography for another round of photos ( 7 1/2 Months). He was such a good boy!! Just smiling and giggling the whole time.
Here are a few of the pictures Aleah has posted to the website.

It's Has been Way too Long
Well what do you know...5 months have gone by since I first started this blog. I think I need to make a conscious effort to update it at least once per week.
Our little Alex is 7 Months 2 Weeks old and seems to be changing each and everyday. He has two teeth on the bottom and at least two trying to make their way through on the top as I type. We are starting our summer schedule next week so he will be with Grandma W on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and will spend Tuesdays and Thursday with Cheryl at daycare. We decided this would be the best approach so that Grandma could still enjoy her summer and Alex would still get some time around other kids and not forget Cheryl's daycare schedule.
This past weekend we made the trek up to Duluth to celebrate Noah's cousin Amber's graduation from High School. Here are a couple of pictures that Noah's Grandma took. Enjoy!!

Hola Blogger World
As I sit here with my baby boy who is now over two months old, I decided it might be a good idea to start a blog to gather all of the things going on in our lives...
Alex came into our lives on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 and has brought nothing but joy and happiness. He is such a good baby. Mommy and daddy couldn't be more proud. :-) He seems to grow so fast and I am hoping that this blog will help me remember all of the different things that are happening with Alex and in our lives.
I hope anyone who reads it is able to enjoy!!
